But NOW what?
To help get you started, the Texas Municipal League and the
Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners
are sponsoring an orientation program that will answer many of
your questions, give you some basic information, and help
you begin your new role with confidence! As a
first-time elected official in your city, you want to hit the
ground running feeling prepared. This program will do just
that…give you a better understanding of how to be a team
player on the governing body, help you learn the ropes about
fundamental issues, and introduce you to other newly elected city officials around the state who are in the same
shoes as you.
