GENERAL INFORMATION
To better accommodate the schedules of its members, TML is offering this workshop twice. Choose the date and location that best fit your plans!
Registration Fee: Save $50 by registering online for $170; registration by mail is $220. The registration fee includes handouts, refreshments, Friday continental breakfast and lunch, and Saturday continental breakfast. A confirmation will be e-mailed if you provide an e-mail address. A workshop badge and confirmation will be mailed to each delegate registered up to one week before the workshop.
Hotel Accommodations:
JULY 20-21 –– HURST
This workshop will be held at the Hurst Conference Center, located at 1601 Campus Drive in Hurst. Hotels offering TML rates within walking distance are listed below:
Hampton Inn & Suites (1600 Hurst Town Center Drive; 817-503-7777)
The hotel has extended a room rate of $85 single/double until June 28. When you call the Hampton Inn & Suites, please refer to the TML Newly Elected City Officials’ Orientation room block to make reservations. Complimentary amenities include self-parking, hot breakfast, and high-speed Internet. The hotel also offers a manager’s reception Monday-Thursday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., a shuttle to and from the DFW Airport and within a five-mile radius of the hotel, an indoor heated pool and hot tub, a fitness center, and a business center.
Hyatt Place (1601 Hurst Town Center Drive; 817-577-3003)
The hotel has extended a room rate of $85 single/double until June 28. When you call the Hyatt Place, please refer to the TML Newly Elected City Officials’ Orientation roomblock to make reservations. AUGUST 24-25 –– AUSTIN
The location of this workshop will be the DoubleTree Hotel Austin North (6505 Interstate Highway-35 North). Self-parking is complimentary. The hotel has extended a room rate of $109 single/$129 double if your reservation is made by August 1. Please call the DoubleTree Hotel Austin North at 512-454-3737 or 800-347-0330 and refer to the Texas Municipal League room block, or make reservations online by following the instructions below:
- In the “Check Availability” section on the right side of the page, enter your arrival and departure information and click “Go.”
- Enter reservation details, and in the “Special Accounts” section, enter TMN workshop in the “Group/Convention Code” box.
- Click “Continue.” Click the link next to the desired room type. Click “Continue.”
- Enter name, address, and credit information. Click “Book Now” to confirm the reservation.
Cancellation and Substitution Policy: If you are registered and cannot attend, we encourage you to send a substitute. If you cannot send a substitute, a $45 cancellation fee will be assessed if cancellation is e-mailed to acct@tml.org by July 6 for the workshop in Hurst or August 10 for the workshop in Austin.
Continuing Education Credit: Elected officials (mayors and councilmembers) can earn Texas Municipal League Institute (TMLI) credits for attending this workshop. Forms will be available on site.
The Texas Municipal League Institute (TMLI) offers a variety of educational programs to help elected city officials strengthen and enhance their leadership and policy-making skills. Throughout the TMLI year (January 1-December 31), elected officials can earn continuing education unit (CEU) credits by attending TML-sponsored educational programs.
